Charley joined the Okanagan UK Academy at the start of the 2017/18 season in the role of sports therapist. Charley has an in-depth knowledge of hockey related injuries having overseen the Swindon Wildcats, the England National Programme and Great Britain for many years. She conducts assessments of a players fitness level and offers expert advice and emergency aid. Charley has a key role in the mental and physical preparation of Okanagan UK players pre game, offering injury assessment and aid throughout games as well as rehabilitation post game.
Paul started to work for the Okanagan Hockey UK Academy in 2014 and joined the organisation in a full time capacity in May 2015. Paul has held a number of Managerial posts within the Nottingham Junior Programme, the Midlands Conference and the England National team. Immediately prior to joining the Academy Paul held the post of General Manager for the Nottingham Ice Hockey Club.
Paul’s responsibilities include Recruitment, Academics, Billeting and overseeing scheduling of the Academy’s UK and overseas activities. With a passion for the game and a desire to give young student athletes the opportunity to mix hockey with academics, Paul is well placed to provide the springboard for our athletes to achieve their goals.
Having spent the last 25 years in Swindon with the majority of that time spent as a player, coach or manager of the Swindon Wildcats. Steve has now been a Director and General Manager of the club since 2004. Knowing the importance of a good start to a hockey career, Steve is proud to host the Okanagan Hockey School in the UK and provide a great start for young athletes wanting to pursue a hockey career.
Pierre is the Okanagan UK Academy’s personal trainer. He offers intense training in a variety of off-ice conditioning methods in order to create a vigorous and effective programme for Okanagan’s Student Athletes. Pierre is now in his 4th season with the Okanagan Hockey UK Academy and has been an asset to the players development. His training regime spans the on and off-season in order to push players to be their best selves. Pierre works closely with our other Academy sites to ensure the UK athletes are aligned with our counterparts in North America and Europe, each site sharing best practice to ensure our Athletes have the best opportunity to be in peak condition.
Ryan started his coaching career in 2006 with the Bracknell Bees where he led his team to Both EPL League Champions and Playoff Champions for the first time in that club’s history. After success with the Bees Ryan coached in the UK Elite league with the Basingstoke Bison in 07/08 then returned to Swindon in 08/09 Coaching the Wildcats where he still remains. Ryan has coached with OHS since the summer of 2003 where he spent 3 summers in Penticton and has since continued to work for OHS in Denmark, Austria and the UK.
Having attended the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Canada in his younger years, Aaron has gone from strength to strength. He has worked his way through various standards of hockey to ultimately reach the highest playing level in the UK with the Coventry Blaze and Sheffield Steelers. Aaron also holds level 2 coaching badges and is returning to the Okanagan Hockey School to help supply knowledge and teachings to attending players. Aaron has coached in the OHS since 2004 and has worked every year since in Penticton, Canada, Denmark, England & Austria.
