I strongly believe this is still the best program for U18 Hockey players in the UK and I am very proud to be a part of that. I am looking forward to working with Jamie again next season. I feel we work well together and we both have the same beliefs and values for our student-athletes.”
Here at OHA UK we have also introduce a new role, Dave Ridley will be joining as Academic and Hosting co-ordinator. The whole staff at Okangan Hockey Academy would like to welcome Dave on board in his new role. Our student-athletes that require boarding are billeted among a great group of local families. our Billets provide a safe and supportive environment that our students can call home. Dave Ridley will be the first point of contact for the Billet family, the student and the Student’s parents. Dave will take the role of School Liaison, communicating with our academic partner Swindon Academy.
Dave said “I’m delighted to be involved with OHA UK. The program is well established worldwide and continuously sees great results. I know the staff very well as I have been a part of the team during camps throughout the year and I am no stranger to OHA UK and the standards.
I can’t wait to get more involved and to be a key part of the team off the ice. It will be my aim to keep everyone informed and be a part of what goes on day to day, especially as most of our players live away from home. I’ve admired the hard work and success that Steve, Ryan, Jamie and Sam achieved last season and how the program has grown; this is a great opportunity and I’m excited to get involved as we set high standards again next year.
Through working at different professional sports teams for many years, achieving higher education and working with schools in the area I’m fully aware of what the players need to achieve off the ice to keep being successful. I’m confident and looking forward to overseeing the players academics, housing and providing answers to any of their issues.”
Please join us in welcoming returning staff as well as welcoming Dave Ridley in his new role.
